Privacy Policy

How DeadStock handles information at launch in Kuwait.

Last updated: May 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information DeadStock collects when you use the marketplace, why we use it, who can see it, and what choices you have. DeadStock operates a live auction platform; we are not a bank or escrow provider at launch.

Account information

When you register, we collect information such as email, display name, language preference, and authentication identifiers from our auth provider (for example Google sign-in when enabled).

We use account data to identify you, secure login, show your dashboard, and apply platform rules. Keep your email current for recovery and notices.

Submissions and listings

Sellers provide product titles, descriptions, categories, photos, and optional notes when submitting items. We store this content to review, publish auctions, and display listings to buyers.

Photos and text may be reviewed by DeadStock staff or automated checks before or after going live.

Auction, bid, and watchlist activity

We record bids, bid timestamps, participation status, auction views, and watchlist entries to run auctions fairly, show ledgers, and send notifications you enable.

Some bid information may be visible to other participants or the public as described on each auction page.

Participation payments

When you pay the 0.990 KWD Bid Participation Fee, we store payment references, status, and linkage to the auction. At launch, payment processing may use a test or mock provider in development environments; production may use a configured provider when enabled.

DeadStock does not receive your full card details if the provider tokenizes them; we receive confirmation and identifiers needed to unlock bidding.

Contact unlock

Before unlock, seller and buyer contact fields are not shown to the public or to non-winning bidders. After a qualifying auction result, we reveal the contact details each party provided for transaction coordination to the winning buyer and seller only.

Do not share unlocked contacts outside the transaction or use them for spam.

Issue reports

If you file an issue after unlock, we store your category, description, attachments you upload, status updates, and admin notes needed to review the case.

Reports may reference auction ID, parties involved, and unlock timestamp.

In-app and email notifications

We may send in-app notifications for bids, auction endings, unlock events, and issue updates. Email notifications may be queued in our systems; at launch, email delivery may use a development mock or staging provider until a production email service is fully enabled.

You can manage certain preferences where settings are available. Operational messages about security or legal changes may still be sent.

Usage and technical data

We collect logs such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and error reports to secure the service, debug problems, and understand aggregate usage.

We may use cookies or similar technologies for session management and language preference.

Who sees your information

DeadStock staff and contractors with a need to know may access data for review, support, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Other users see only what the product displays (for example public bids, your seller display name, or contacts after unlock as policy allows).

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers (hosting, auth, payments, email queue) under contracts that limit use to providing the service.

Protection and retention

We use access controls, authenticated APIs, and industry-standard practices appropriate to our stage of launch. No online service can guarantee absolute security; report suspected account compromise promptly.

We retain information as long as needed to operate auctions, resolve issues, meet legal obligations, and enforce policies, then delete or anonymize where reasonable.

Your rights and choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information subject to legal exceptions (for example records we must keep for disputes). Contact us through the Contact page with your registered email.

You may stop using the service and request account closure; some auction and payment records may remain for integrity and compliance.
